Diabetes And Homeopathy

Diabetic cases are increasing than any other disease in the past 2 decades. Kerala is going to become the diabetic capital of the world soon.  In every 8 seconds one patient dies due to diabetes. It is estimated that, there are more than 285 million diabetes patients in the world. It is also supposed to be doubled by 2030. Among this, as per the statistical reports more number of diabetes affected patients will be from continents like Asia and Africa.

 There are two types of diabetes- Type 1 and Type 2. In this, type 1 is mostly prevalent among children. As per statistical reports, type 2 diabetes is the most common among 90% of the Keralites. Lifestyle, lack of exercise, continuous use of high-calorie food items, obesity/overweight, intake of certain medicines, genetic issues etc. are some of the major causes of Type 2 diabetes.

 

Diabetes Treatment

 Mainly, there are three types of treatments for diabetes in homeopathy. They are: Controlling the disease, disease recovery and disease prevention.

 

Tests and diagnosis

 There are four lab tests used to diagnose diabetes, which includes RBS, FBS, HBA1C, C Peptide etc. But, in certain types of diabetic cases, some new tests like AIA (Anti Insulin Antibody), Islet Cell Antibody etc are being used. In this, the C-Peptide test will help to understand the functioning condition of the pancreas gland.

 In Type 1 diabetes, C-Peptide level is important for the treatment. HBA1C test will help to decide on the type of treatment to be given. It is according to the result of this test, the doctor decides whether to give medication to reduce the sugar level in the blood. If diabetes is caused due to antibodies like AIA and Anti ICA, the treatment options in homeopathy will be same as the treatments for autoimmune diseases. As the diabetes is a condition treated using a complete treatment protocol in homeopathy, credible lab results are highly necessary.

So, patient should give complete details about his disease family history of all diseases his physical and mental characters etc  to the doctor.
